Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is focused on the dynamic functionality of your body. Similar to an architect or engineer, I seek to understand how structure can improve function, or how your body can best house your spirit.
This modality is called craniosacral because it works with your central nervous system within your cranium and sacrum (tailbone). However, it is not limited to addressing the health of your head and spine. Your mid-line was the first thing to form when you were an embryo. It acts as an organizing principle for your body and is an expression of the life force, so working with your central nervous system is working at a core level. Because craniosacral can improve the functioning of your brain and spinal cord, it affects your whole body, mind and emotions.
Your vitality is also expressed in the water in all your cells (we are 70% water) and in your internal rhythms (breathing, heartbeat and cranial fluid tides). Water and motion are essential to all life forms. By increasing cranial fluid movement throughout your body, your life energy can shine more brightly. The power of Biodynamic craniosacral therapy lies in listening with deep attention to your inherent health.
What is a craniosacral session like?
I usually begin by holding your feet or your head with a light gentle touch to assess the strength of your craniosacral tides and the alignment of your body’s structure. I follow my intuition and your feedback to guide where I listen next. At each of area of your body, I suggest more freedom and nourishment. I don’t address too many areas, staying at each place long enough so that you can relax into it.
